NAPSI is a certification brand for maple water. It was created by The Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers in 2013. This certification ensures that maple water sold in store has the look and taste of freshly harvested maple water.
What is maple water?
Maple water is the sap collected in spring. To be sold to consumers, maple water must be stabilized as soon as possible after being harvested to preserve its sensory and functional properties.
What does NAPSI stand for?
Strict standards to guarantee pure maple water
Standards and production controls for NAPSI certified products were established after several years of research and are constantly being updated as new discoveries are made in order to ensure a quality product. NAPSI certification program requirements preserve the clarity, freshness, and beneficial properties of maple water for an extended period.
With NAPSI, all steps of production are strictly monitored
All steps of production are monitored by a team mandated by the FPAQ:
- Harvesting and storing maple water at the sugar bush
- Transporting maple water from the production site to the processing plant
- Stabilizing maple water
- Bottling maple water
- Certifying maple water authenticity
