October 28, 2019

Recognition of outstanding leadership

As part of the International Maple Syrup Institute (IMSI) Annual Conference, held from October 21 to October 24, 2019 in the State of Minnesota, USA, Julie Barbeau, Innovation and Market Development Advisor at the Québec Maple Syrup Producers (PPAQ), received the prestigious Lynn Reynolds Award.

This award, presented annually by the IMSI, recognizes the outstanding leadership of a person who has been active in the international maple syrup industry for the past five years. As food chemist, Julie has held a unique and unconventional position in the PPAQ since 2005.

In charge of innovation and market development, she manages all of the organization’s research projects and thus contributes to consolidating Quebec’s position as the world leader in maple. In her thanks, Julie wanted to mention that this honor “is the fruit of a collective work with our network of international researchers, and that this work is possible with the financial support and the confidence of the maple syrup producers in Quebec.”

Congratulations Julie!
